What is VoCal and what is it used for?
VoCal is a new way of organising your life. Traditionally people have been used to typing calendar entries into their phones and setting an alert. What VoCal does is enable you to use a dictaphone type voice recorder with an alert calendar mixed into one. It has been specially made with a simple and speedy interface to be used quickly during everyday life.
How does VoCal work with Push Technology?
Push notifications allow and iPhone to effectively run an application in the background without using extra CPU or Battery power. This is done by continuing using the application on our servers and communicating any messages back to your phone using a push type message. What this means to you as the user is that you can now enjoy using VoCal in the way it was designed to work.
How does the Push reminder service work?
As long as you are connected to the network either through cellular or wifi you will always be able to receive push notifications. If your iPhone has no internet connection at the time a push is due to arrive, it will back up in a queue using Apple's Qos service and you will receive the push the next time your phone connects to the network.
What makes VoCal better than these voice recognition apps that can do the same job?
There are many reasons why VoCal is better. Two of things that we would like to point out is accuracy and privacy. Voice recognition software is still some way off from working well with different accents and languages, because of this other companies are using people to help decipher messages. This means that your message is getting sent to a third party server and around the internet.
VoCal keeps all the recordings stored privately on the iPhone and does not send any content up to our servers.
Also as we do not require usernames and passwords, all the data is anonymous. There is no way we can tell who you are and you can safely keep all your private messages private :)
I have found a Bug in the Application, what should I do?
First make sure you are running the latest version which can be found in the app store under Updates section.
We apologise for any problems you may experience with our application, please let us know of any difficulties you are experiencing by visiting our support page here.
VoCal has its own diagnostic logging that happens automatically. If you have had an intermittent freeze problem we will automatically receive a notification to enable us to continue bug/crash fixing in our future updates. Please note: no personal data is collected when we receive crash logs.
